Sibley State Park Experience

A welcome tour of one of Minnesota’s most popular destination state parks. Join the park naturalist as she boards your bus and provides a brief orientation to Sibley State Park’s history and recreation opportunities. Guests will participate in a Veterans’ Conservation Corps building tour and get an introduction to Geocaching.

Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center Adventure

Come out to Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center and experience our 40 ft. Flying Squirrel, 40 ft. Climbing Wall and 1888 Pioneer Cabin. The activities are accessible to all. You just need a sense of adventure. After your adventures, enjoy a catered lunch in the Westby Observatory.

Paddle the Crow River

Start the day with a tour of the DNR New London Fish Hatchery dating back to the 1940’s. Then, paddle the scenic Middle Fork of the Crow River in a 34 ft., Montreal style Voyager Canoe guided by Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center. The Middle Fork Crow River Watershed District will share their knowledge about the local history of the Mill Pond and the current state of the river.

History Tour of the Willmar Lakes Area

Take a journey across northern Kandiyohi County learning a bit of the history that shaped the lakes area accompanied by a professional tour guide, stopping at the picturesque Log Church and Knutson Cabin along with the Kandiyohi County Historical Society. You will gain a better understanding of why the large number of lakes exist in this area and why immigrants decided to settle here in the mid 1800’s, even hearing some of their own stories. To cap off your tour a delicious luncheon will be served at the historic Spicer Castle where you will also be entertained by another local historian discussing the impacts of railroads to this area.

Water & Winery Tour

Join us for a one-hour boat cruise of Green Lake in Spicer on the “Danny Boy” houseboat and learn some history about this beautiful lake and events that have taken place around it. After that, we’ll move over to the Glacial Ridge Winery to enjoy a sampling of wines in their uniquely distinctive ‘Barrel Room’. The Winery is located at the home of Jimmy Appleseed Orchard which has over 800 apple trees. Take a tour of the winery and check out the patios located throughout the grounds.

Experience New London

Experience New London while you enjoy a fresh brew from the local “Goat Ridge Brewery” and lunch by our local cafe, all while creating your very own beer Stein under the instruction of town Mayor (and well known potter) Mr. Bill Gossman. Following this creative adventure, you will be brought on a short walking tour around the “Mill Pond” and learn about artistic cornerstones of the community, including a musical walking tour and learn about the long term goals of an art grant granted to this area. Following the tour, you will have a chance to walk Main Street and see why New London is thriving and learn firsthand how small towns can work toward success with key ingredients: natural beauty, merchant partnerships, vibrant art scene and something unique worth visiting for.

Bike & Brew Tour

Join us for a guided bike ride through Willmar’s north side experiencing history, a regional park, and lakeside beauty. Our leisurely tour will begin on the MinnWest Technology Campus and end in downtown Willmar where you can enjoy international treats paired with a local brew.

Time: 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Lunch: Light sampling

The serene grounds of the 100-acre MinnWest Technology Campus are more than just lush green space and lakeside views. Inside the picturesque buildings of this historic campus are companies on the cutting edge of research and technology innovation –with an array of R&D focused technology, bioscience, and animal science companies. The MinnWest Technology Campus opened its doors in 2006 with 5 businesses and 107 employees on campus, today they have over 32 companies and over 650 employees in those companies.
