Willmar, Minn. (February 5, 2018) – The Willmar Rotary Club will host a special “Rockin’ Robbins Fishin’ Edition” on Friday, May 11th to kick-off the Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener in the Willmar Lakes Area.
Traditionally, those who attend the community picnic on the eve of the Fishing Opener are treated to a free picnic meal, as well as a chance to meet and greet representatives from the Governor’s Office. However, this year, Willmar Rotarians wanted a chance to build on the success Rockin’ Robbins and give visitors and guests a glimpse of their popular summer concert series.
Rockin’ Robbins Fishin’ Edition will take place at Robbins Island on Friday, May 11th, from 4:30 PM to 8 PM. A free picnic meal will be served to the first 3,000 attendees, and, following a short program, the Dam Jammers will take the concert stage at approximately 5:30 PM.
The Dam Jammers are a six-piece bluegrass/rock band that plays a variety of pop, rock, and country hits, all with a bluegrass twist. They are back by popular demand to help kick of the Governor’s Fishing Opener and Rockin’ Robbins Fishin’ Edition.
Like other Rockin’ Robbins events, the Fishin’ Edition will also feature a free shuttle, kids’ activities, exhibitors, and a beer/wine tent.
